Where It All Began - Mission Statement

The NSPL’s Origin and Ambition

The NSPL was founded by Gerry Shultz in 1988. He gathered passionate football fans near Boston to create a space where NFL knowledge and competition could flourish. It started with a simple concept: who truly understands NFL football? Now, more than three decades later, it’s a global community, uniting sports enthusiasts of all kinds, including professional sportswriters, bloggers, and pundits in the battle for NFL prediction glory. Now Hope Maruzo is our commissioner, guiding the NSPL to a whole new group of players.

The heart of NSPL lies in its unique scoring system, which takes into account straight-up picks, against the spread predictions and over/under picks. Prove you’re the ultimate game strategist, not just a winner-picker. With records that have stood the test of time, our statistics provide both a benchmark for achievement and a challenge for anyone looking to raise the bar. We have introduced a Premium tier for our most dedicated members, offering exclusive insights and access to live streamed games. But whether you’re competing for trophies, the $1000 prize for Premium members, or simply the bragging rights, NSPL is the place where NFL excitement, strategy, and community collide. The World Championship is on the line!
